Copperfield Chimney Liner & Rebuild Nationwide

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Copperfield Chimney Liner & Rebuild in Atlanta: What to Know First

Level Two Chimney Atlanta provides independent Copperfield chimney liner and rebuild services across the metro area, with most liner replacements completed in one day and full rebuilds typically scheduled within a week. We deliver a written price before any work starts, backed by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If you own a Copperfield chimney system in Atlanta, Buckhead, Decatur, or Sandy Springs and your liner is showing gaps, your crown is cracked, or your flue is pulling away from the wall, we’ll run a camera, name the fix, and put the number in writing. Call us at (470) 435-7984 for a free estimate.

How Copperfield Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Copperfield 316Ti flexible liner fatigue at the offset. The 316Ti series uses a titanium-stabilized stainless alloy that resists acid corrosion well, but the flex joints at chimney offsets in Atlanta’s older homes, especially in Virginia-Highland and Grant Park, work-harden over 8-12 years of thermal cycling. We see circumferential cracking at the bend that a flashlight inspection misses entirely. Our fix: camera-locate the crack, pull a new section of 316Ti or upgrade to 904L alloy if the flue runs especially cool, and document the weld with photos under Clause 4 of the Haven Standard.
  • Copperfield rigid 304 liner weld-seam separation. The rigid 304 series with longitudinal lock-seam construction can open at the seam when subjected to chimney fires or sustained over-firing, which happens more than people admit in Atlanta’s shoulder seasons when homeowners light early fires in damp October weather. The seam opens, creosote penetrates the gap, and the liner loses its listing. We cut out the failed section, source replacement rigid 304 from our Haven buying network, and pressure-test the joint before we leave.
  • Copperfield top-sealing damper corrosion in high-humidity flues. Atlanta’s humidity doesn’t quit, and Copperfield’s cast-aluminum top-sealing dampers mounted on liner tops in unlined exterior chimneys corrode at the hinge pin after 6-10 years. The damper hangs open or seizes shut. We replace with a stainless pivot damper from Famco or Gelco, matched to the liner diameter, and we always check whether the liner top needs a rain cap upgrade while we’re up there.
  • Copperfield chimney pot and liner misalignment after foundation settlement. In Atlanta’s clay-heavy soils, especially in East Atlanta and Kirkwood, foundation shift tilts the chimney stack. The Copperfield liner, rigid or flex, stays straight while the masonry moves around it. Gaps open at the thimble, smoke spills into the smoke chamber, and the liner collar separates from the appliance adapter. We reline with a flex system that accommodates movement, or we rebuild the stack straight and reinstall.
  • Copperfield transitional adapter failure between square flue and round liner. The factory adapter that transitions a square clay flue to a round Copperfield liner is often mortared in place with standard Portland mix. Atlanta’s freeze-thaw cycles, mild as they are, still crack that mortar in 4-7 years. Hot flue gases bypass the liner and heat the surrounding brick. We remove the failed adapter, cast a proper smoke chamber transition with HeatShield Cerfractory foam, and secure the new adapter with mechanical fasteners plus high-temp sealant.

Our Copperfield Chimney Liner & Rebuild Process

Our Copperfield Chimney Liner & Rebuild Process
  1. 1
Camera-scan diagnosis, NFPA 211 Level 2. We run the camera the full flue length before we quote anything. Corrine Halstead started this practice in 2009, and it’s now Clause 4 of the Haven Standard. You get the footage, we get the facts.
  2. 2
Written scope and price, no exceptions. We specify Copperfield OEM part numbers where they matter, or we name the aftermarket equivalent from DuraFlex, HeatShield, or Gelco and explain the trade-off. The price is fixed before work starts. Haven Standard Clause 1.
  3. 3
Parts procurement through Haven buying network. We source Copperfield-compatible materials at pricing that keeps your estimate honest. If Copperfield OEM is back-ordered, we have pre-vetted alternatives in stock.
  4. 4
Installation or rebuild with live documentation. Our techs photograph every critical stage: liner insertion, adapter connection, crown pour, cap mount. The camera doesn’t negotiate - it just shows you what’s there.
  5. 5
Smoke and draft test, written warranty. We verify draw, check spillage at the appliance, and deliver your warranty in writing. The 365-Day Done Right Promise begins when we pack up.
  6. 6
Cleanup and archive. Your photo record goes into our system and yours. If you sell the house in five years, you have documentation.

Why Atlanta Homeowners Call Level Two Chimney Atlanta for Copperfield Work

We’ve inspected and cleaned more than 38,000 chimneys since 2009, and a significant share of Atlanta’s Copperfield installations passed through our camera. Corrine Halstead and our crew know the difference between a 316Ti flex that’s repairable and one that’s done, and we say so plainly. Our background-checked, uniformed technicians arrive with license numbers visible and a text when they’re on the way. If you have a competitor’s written estimate, we’ll give you a free second opinion. And because we source DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, and Copperfield materials through the Haven buying network, we’re not locked into one brand’s lead times or pricing. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every job. Live phone support, 24/7.
